We have ready the release candidate for the Defy v2.1.1 firmware, and we’d love for you to test it.

What’s new from v2.1

• Fixed a bug where the right side would not wake from deep sleep. You would need to turn it off and sometimes connect it wired for it to work again.
• Fixed a rare bug where the right side would not work wirelessly.

Known bugs/limitations we’re working on

• When you update the firmware, all your Bluetooth connections are reset. To restore them, go to your system settings, click on “forget device,” and then re-pair the keyboard.
• The keyboard might blink very briefly both in use and when resting with the LEDs off. On some rare occasions, the LEDs might come back on.
• In wired mode, there’s a small delay on the LEDs when switching layers. One side will be faster than the other side.
• In wired mode, the keys set to black might have a faint red backlight.
• There are still some inconsistencies with the LEDs on the right side when switching Bluetooth devices.
• During Bluetooth pairing, there’s a small chance that the neuron resets, causing your layers to be lost. You can restore them under Preferences > Backups.
• When saving changes to your LED colors, the right side might not update correctly. Turning it off and on again will show the correct colors.
• Superkey-related bugs
• When the keyboard's battery is low, the LEDs might switch between low and normal brightness for a few minutes.

Here is how to flash it:

Please read these instructions carefully.

• If you lose your layers when updating the firmware, don’t worry. You can restore them under Preferences > Backups > Restore last backup
• If the flashing procedure gets stuck at any point, you can close Bazecor, disconnect the keyboard and restart the process.
• If it fails systematically, please use the Flasher Tools as explained here </aside>

1. Download the latest Bazecor at https://dygma.com/bazecor

2. Download the 2.1.1-RC firmware and unzip it.

   If you’re on Windows, make sure you unblock the files before extracting them.

3. Open Bazecor

4. Go to the Update Firmware tab

5. Press the icon “Install a custom firmware”

   

6. A menu will pop up: press “select folder”

   

7. Select the folder that contains the firmware

   

8. Press “Add custom firmware”

   

9. Press “Update now” and follow the instructions.

   If the flashing procedure gets stuck in the first step, you can close Bazecor and restart the process.

10. Your firmware should show that it’s 2.1.1 - RC
