Hi, everybody!
After months of hard work, we have a beta version of the new 2.0 firmware for the Defy, and we’d love for you to test it out. We’re currently on 2.0.0 beta 15.
Please be aware that this is a real beta; we've tested it internally and with the beta testing group, but that's limited testing. Proceed with caution. But don't worry; you'll always be able to go back to 1.2.7 or 1.1.0 if you want.
The most important stuff we want to test is connectivity issues, especially Bluetooth, but also wake-from-sleep disconnections or disconnections when switching devices with a KVM.
What’s new from Beta 13
- Fixed a bug where the right side of the keyboard would glow red indefinitely when coming back from deep sleep (it would type, though 😅)
- Fixed a bug where if you set any LED timer to 0, the other timer would not work
- Fixed a bug where the Wired LED timer would not work on wired Defy keyboards using the wireless neuron.
- Improved stability when using the wireless Defy in wired mode.
What’s new from 1.2.7
- Rewritten communications between the sides and the neuron for better stability.
- Improved Bluetooth connectivity. You should not have any brief disconnects while using Bluetooth.
- Improved Battery life with LEDs off. The LED driver turns off when the lights are set to 0% brightness.
- More configuration options for dual function keys: minimum hold time and minimum prior interval.
- Rewritten LED effects for better efficiency
If testing of the wired neuron goes smoothly, we’ll make this the official release of the Defy 2.0 firmware

⚠️
Important
There have been no changes to Superkeys or Mouse keys or other bugs not stated on what’s new from 1.2.7

- Bluetooth over wired can be buggy. You might see the BT pairing interface when booting your computer with the keyboard wired. If this is critical for you, flash beta 8. There are instructions at the bottom of this page.
